Third Eye Meditation

This is more of an exercise than a meditation but it will strengthen your ability to envisage your 3rd eye and access the energy within it.  Enjoy!

To begin, you may want to work with your eyes open.  Once you are familiar with the routine, you will probably prefer to close your eyes.

  • Begin breathing long and deeply and gently move your chin down towards your chest.
  • Relax your shoulders down and back, resting your hands on your thighs or down by your side.
  • Close your eyes and gaze up to your ‘third eye,’ the invisible area located between your eyebrows otherwise known as the seat of intuition.
  • Relaxing your eyelids, continue to breathe long and deeply, allowing your eyes to stretch up to look at your third eye.
  • Take five or more long deep breaths.

Eye stretches left to right

  • Inhale slowly looking to the far left then exhale slowly looking to the far right.
  • Keep your head and shoulders still.
  • Do three full sets and then blink your eyes for ten seconds.
  • Gently close your eyes and relax for three long deep breaths.

Eye stretches down to up

  • Slowly inhale, stretching your eyeballs up to the sky and then exhale, looking down to the ground. Do not move your head or shoulders.
  • Do three full sets and then blink your eyes for ten seconds.
  • Gently close your eyes and relax for three long deep breaths.

Eye circles

  • Sit very tall in your chair with both feet flat on the floor.
  • Roll your eyes in circles clockwise for three long deep breaths.
  • Then roll your eyes counter clockwise for three long deep breaths.
  • Blink your eyes rapidly for ten seconds.
  • Gently close your eyes and relax for three long deep breaths.

Asking for help

  • By now you should be able to ‘feel’ your 3rd eye.
  • You may feel a frustration if you can’t place your focus there.
  • If this happens, gently call for a guide.  This may be some-one you often work with or some-one new.
  • Listen to their words of wisdom and guidance.
  • Remember to thank them when you are ready to leave.
